Compute North Closes $385 Million in Funding for Computing Infrastructure

On February 8th, 2022 - Compute North announced a $385MM raise to help fund the development of new U.S based data centers with a focus on sustainability and efficiency.

The round was co-led by Mercuria and Generate Capital with additional investors including National Grid Partners

Compute North aims to accelerate the transition towards renewable energy by  partnering with the world's most recognized energy companies that leverage wind, solar, and carbon-free assets for its facilities. The company says its data centers meet the highest energy efficiency standards in the industry.

About the Investors

  • Mercuria is one of the most active players in the energy and renewables markets and is expected to direct half of its investments towards the renewable energy transition.
  • Generate Capital builds, owns, operates and finances solutions for clean energy, water, waste, transportation and digital infrastructure.
  • National Grid Partners is one of the largest investor owned energy companies in the world that strategically invests in disruptive innovation efforts in the energy sector.
