Ukraine has launched a new donation website, Aid For Ukraine, to support its military and humanitarian efforts as the fight against Russia continues to evolve.
The website is now live and is currently reporting close to $60 million in received donations at the time of writing. These numbers continue to grow, and updates can be accessed live through the provided website link.
In the midst of the humanitarian disaster, Ukraine has asked countries and people to donate crypto to the fundraising account of the National Bank of Ukraine. The funds will be used for the support of humanitarian aid programs and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Aid for Ukraine homepage makes it quick and easy to make cryptocurrency donations with a list of accepted virtual currencies provided including Bitcoin, Ether, Tether, Polkadot, and Luna.
Users can simply click the currency they wish to donate, and they will be provided with the respective address to send funds.
Furthermore, FTX is currently working directly with Ukraine's financial sector by converting donations to fiat and sending them to the National Bank of Ukraine.
Ukraine President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has also gone on record requesting help from the US as well as other NATO allies as the country's situation grows dire.
U.S. President, Joe Biden, has recently approved a spending bill worth $1.5 trillion, which includes funds aimed at supporting both the Ukrainian military and other needs for support.
Approximately $13.6 billion of these funds is expected to be set aside for direct support to Ukraine.
