Sparrow Wallet developer Craig Raw stated that Apple's planned termination of his Apple Developer account could prevent new installations of the wallet software and halt future development for macOS if the decision is not reversed by June 30th.
In a post on X, the Sparrow Wallet account stated that "all new installs of Sparrow will fail" and that development on macOS would end if Apple's decision remains in place.
Unless @Apple's decision to terminate @craigraw's Apple Developer account is reversed by June 30, all new installs of Sparrow will fail, and development on macOS will end. If you value Sparrow, a repost would help. @AppleSupport https://t.co/sMLsGKn3tI

Raw said his developer account was flagged for termination after he attempted to address fraudulent applications using the Sparrow name on Apple's App Store.
According to Raw, more than a dozen applications using the Sparrow name have appeared on the App Store since 2023, and some users later contacted him after losing funds to apps they believed were affiliated with Sparrow Wallet.
Raw added that Sparrow Wallet is a desktop-only application, that he holds U.S. trademarks for the Sparrow name and logo, and that he has repeatedly reported impersonation apps to Apple while publicly warning users about them.
To address user confusion, Raw said he submitted a placeholder application to Apple's review process.
Didn’t work. App (with the screens below) was rejected for having “placeholder content” and only “demonstrating a concept”. pic.twitter.com/kN7o5fto72

According to him, the unpublished application was intended to inform users that Sparrow Wallet does not offer a mobile version and that other applications using the Sparrow name were not affiliated with the project.
"The app @Apple flagged was a placeholder that was never published. Its only purpose was to warn users that Sparrow is desktop-only and that other ‘Sparrow’ apps aren't mine. This approach may have been misguided, but there was nothing dishonest about it," Raw wrote.
Raw previously disclosed that the application was rejected during Apple's review process. He later stated that the submission was rejected for containing "placeholder content" and only "demonstrating a concept."
According to Raw, Apple's current action cites "dishonest activity." He said he believes the decision may have resulted from an automated review process and has appealed the determination.
The issue follows earlier public discussion regarding applications on the App Store that allegedly impersonated Sparrow Wallet.
In July 2025, X user "fool" questioned why two such applications remained available on the platform. Raw responded that he had reported them "multiple times, and in different ways."
Apple has not publicly commented on the matter.
If the developer account termination proceeds, Raw said future installations of Sparrow Wallet on Apple platforms could be affected and development of the software for macOS could cease.
Everyone please raise an alarm and tag all Apple related accounts.

Craig/Sparrow tried to warn users of scam mobile apps and by doing so somehow got flagged. If this isn't rectified there may be no more Sparrow on Mac.
Unreal from the @AppStore @Apple https://t.co/9i23xYEYBb
